Select Lists - System vs Custom

When working in SiteZeus, you may come across two different types of select lists: system select lists and custom select lists. Both types of lists have their uses, but it's essential to understand the differences between them to ensure that you're using the right one for your needs. Both are available to be edited under Administration>Select Lists:

System Select Lists:

System select lists are pre-defined lists of options that are pre-loaded into SiteZeus . These list names cannot be modified or customized by the user, though the options available for selection within the list are editable. Additionally, these lists can not be removed from the system entirely. Examples of system select lists include Asset Types, Building Types, Lead Sources and Team Member Roles. These lists are designed to provide a standardized set of data that can be used across the various modules within SiteZeus.

Custom Select Lists:

Custom select lists are created by users to meet the specific needs of their company or brand. These lists can be modified or customized as needed to include specific options that are relevant to the project. These lists are then applied through the creation and use of specific Custom Fields. Examples of custom select lists include Machine Type, Single or Double Drive Thru, POS System and Colors of Wallpaper. Custom select lists are useful when you need to track industry or brand-specific information.
