[Timeline](https://help.sitezeus.com/sales?hsLang=en#timeline) # Setting a Default Timeline for Email-Parsed Leads ## When the email parser creates a new lead, it can automatically start that lead on a Sales timeline. You can now choose that timeline yourself from the Timeline Templates page, without a support request. ### **How to Set the Default** 1. Go to **Timeline Templates**. 2. Click the **Sales** tab to show only Sales templates. 3. Right-click the template you want to use and choose **Set as Default**. 4. The new template replaces the old one, so you don't need to remove the old one first. The confirmation window names the timeline it will replace. - **To remove it:** right-click the current default and choose **Remove as Default**, then confirm. With no default set, email-parsed leads are created without a timeline. ### **Good to Know** - **Only one default at a time.** Only one Sales template can be the default. - **Republishing keeps the default.** If you publish a new version of the default template, new parsed leads automatically use the newest version. - **Deleting clears the default.** If you delete the default template, no default is set until you choose a new one. - **A default set in Classic.** If your account's default was set up in Classic, a banner on the Sales tab shows which timeline email-parsed leads currently use. Choosing a default here replaces it. --- ### **Summary** Setting a default timeline for email-parsed leads means every new lead from the parser starts on the right Sales timeline automatically.
