NEXT Development Report

The Development Report is the most powerful, flexible, and customizable report in the platform. It is designed to give you a complete view of your development activity by combining timeline data, site and company information, custom fields, and memos—all in a single, interactive report. One of the Development Report’s biggest strengths is that many fields can be edited directly from the report, allowing you to update data without navigating away.

What the Development Report Can Show

The Development Report can display a wide range of data, including:

  • Planned, Estimated, and Actual timeline dates

  • Site and Company basic detail fields

  • Custom Fields

  • Team Member roles

  • Memos

  • Timeline task data

You can also:

  • Edit timeline dates directly in the report

  • Edit Custom Field values

  • Add and view memos inline

Public and Private Views

The Development Report supports both Public and Private Views, allowing teams to create different report configurations for different needs.

  • Private Views are visible only to the user who created them

  • Public Views can be shared across teams or departments

This allows each user or department to tailor the report without impacting others.

Searching and Filtering the Report

At the top of the Development Report, users can quickly narrow results using search and filters. The report is searchable by Site Name, Site Number and Company Name.

Multi-select filters include:

  • Site Schedule

    • On Track

    • In Danger

    • Off Track

  • Site Type

    • Seed

    • Opportunity (formerly Sites)

    • Projects

    • Locations

  • Status

    • Active

    • Dead

    • On Hold

    • For Sale

  • Concept

All filters can be used together to precisely refine the dataset.

Exporting the Development Report

At any time, the Development Report can be exported by clicking Export (Raw Excel) in the upper corner of the report. The export includes the report exactly as configured in the current view.

Customizing a Development Report View

To customize a view, click Customize View in the upper-right corner of the report.

This opens a configuration window where users define what data appears in the report.

Selecting Timeline Types and Date Ranges

Within the customization window, users can choose:

  • Which timeline types to include: Development (default), Renovation and/or ReOpen

  • Whether to include only Locations, Renovations and/or ReOpens completed within a specific date range.

Timeline Date Fields

Including timeline dates in the report is optional.

If enabled, users may choose to display:

  • Planned dates

  • Estimated dates

  • Actual dates

At least one timeline date type is required if timeline dates are included.

Selecting Report Columns

Clicking the Columns tab allows users to choose which fields appear on the report.

To make selection easier, column options can be filtered by:

  • General (basic detail fields)

  • Team Member Roles

  • Custom Fields

  • Timeline Tasks

Typing anywhere in the popup will also automatically search and narrow available fields.

When a column is selected:

  • It moves to the top of the configuration window

  • Columns can be dragged and reordered into the desired sequence

Narrowing Timeline Fields Further

To further refine timeline-related columns:

  • Click the Timelines bar on the right side of the configuration window

  • Select the timeline type and the published timeline template name.

This helps narrow timeline task and date fields when multiple templates exist. Once satisfied, click Apply to update the report. Changes apply immediately and the report refreshes automatically.

Managing Report Views

Users can manage Development Report views directly from the report header.

  • Click the Copy icon to duplicate an existing view

    • You will be prompted to provide a unique name

  • Click the red trash can icon to delete a view

Editing Data Directly from the Report

The Development Report supports inline editing for many fields.
