Project Period Year Setup

At SiteZeus, we're constantly striving to improve your user experience and meet your specific needs. We understand that not every business follows the traditional calendar year, and that's why we're excited to introduce a powerful new feature – the 'Project Period Year' setting. This feature allows you to set custom reporting dates for your internal 'year,' which may not align with the standard calendar year.

Enabling the 'Project Period Year' Setting

  1. Navigate to the 'Administration' section in your SiteZeus account.

  2. Click on 'Settings' to access the configuration options.

  3. Select the 'Project Period Year' tab at the top of the page.

  4. Locate the 'Enable Period Calculation' setting, and toggle it on.

Setting Your Custom 'Period Year'

Once you've enabled the 'Project Period Year' setting, you'll be prompted to specify when your specific 'period year' begins. This is crucial for aligning your reporting with your company's unique fiscal cycles.

The 'weeks per period' field will display the default value of 4 weeks per period, as SiteZeus assumes each period has 4 weeks by default. This leads to each period having an extra week.

Adjusting the 'Extra Period Quarter'
To accurately define your reporting periods, you can specify which quarter should receive the extra 13th week. SiteZeus calculates this extra week when dividing the 52 calendar weeks by 4 quarters.

However, it's important to note that occasionally, there will be a year where the 13th period contains an extra five weeks. If your company's accounting necessitates this adjustment, you can specify the years when this setting should apply.

Visualizing Your Calendar

Below the settings, you'll find a calendar that automatically generates the start and end dates for each of your reporting periods based on your custom 'Project Period Year' settings. This visual representation helps you understand and plan your reporting cycles with precision.

If you do not have the 'Project Period Year' calculation enabled, the calendar will display the standard calendar year, allowing you to compare and contrast your custom settings with the traditional calendar.

Reporting Using Project Period Calculations

With the introduction of the 'Project Period Year' settings in SiteZeus, your reporting becomes more tailored and insightful. Once you've enabled this feature, several widgets will seamlessly operate based on your custom period calendar year. These widgets include:

  1. New Opening Summary Widget: Stay on top of your new openings and track their progress, all aligned with your specific period-based calendar.

  2. Goals vs Estimated Openings: Compare your goals to the estimated openings, ensuring your targets are accurately reflected within your chosen period calendar.

  3. Next Projects to Open: Gain a clear overview of the projects set to open in the upcoming periods, helping you stay organized and proactive.

  4. Estimated Openings: Keep a precise record of your estimated openings, directly matching your period calendar for accurate insights.

  5. Project Openings by Month: This widget now adjusts its display according to your 'Project Period Year,' allowing you to analyze project openings on a monthly basis.

  6. Units by Phase: Visualize your units' progress, grouped by phase, and aligned with your custom period calendar.

Moreover, you can enhance your reporting capabilities further by adding a column to the Development Report. This column will help you identify unit openings by 'Period,' ensuring you have a clear and organized breakdown of your data.

With the introduction of the 'Project Period Year' setting, SiteZeus provides a highly flexible and customizable solution for businesses with unique fiscal year reporting requirements. Say goodbye to rigid reporting schedules and welcome a system that adapts to your specific needs. Enjoy the enhanced control and accuracy in your financial management with SiteZeus's 'Project Period Year' settings.
